Latin Metropolitan CathedralThe Cathedral is impressive for its beauty and grandeur. It was laid down in 1360. Its first architect was Peter Stetecher. The Cathedral took over one hundred years to build and was finished in 1481.That is why its architectural styles ranging from Gothic through Renaissance to Baroque.

In 1760-78 archbishop Serakovskyi significantly altered the interior of the Cathedral.

Its Gothic and Renaissance chapels and altars were either dismantled or replaced with Baroque ones.

But the altar part of the Cathedral has preserved its original Gothic appearance.

The altar is considered to be the most precious relics of the Cathedral.

At the end of the XIX century new stained-glass windows were produced as per projects of Jan Matejko, J. Mehoffer, T. Axentowicz.

Today the cathedral is impressive for its beauty and grandeur.

The Northern part of the Latin Cathedral has a lean-to, the Campian Chapel, built in the early 17th century, presumably by Paul of Rome and W. Capinos.
