St. George Cathedral
The Greek Catholic St. George Cathedral is a pearl of old L’viv architecture. It is a beautiful relic in the Rococo style. St. George Cathedral is the main sanctuary of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church. In July 1700 the act of consolidation of Lviv archdiocese with Rome was proclaimed here. (more…)
This Church was built in the middle of the 18th century (1749-1764). In architectural form the Church is reminiscent of several West European religious monuments. The interior of the church is richly decorated with magnificent Baroque vestment. Today it is also a popular venue for organ recitals.
The Ensemble of the Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of the Saint Virgin combines Armenian and local design and techniques. Fine 14th and early 15th century wall-paintings are preserved in the interior.
This building constructed in the 18 th century and then rebuilt in 1860 by Havryil Krasuts’ky. Façade was decorated with bas-relief, which shows the scene of rural life in different seasons of the year, since then the building is known as “The house of the seasons of the year”.
